After graduating from Ontario College of Art (now OCAD), and completing a four-year course of study in two years, I have worked as an illustrator for more than twenty years. In the early days, most of my work was in publishing. I also created paintings for sales campaigns, portraits for boardrooms, a hall of fame, a Toronto Construction Association anniversary, private commissions and the Toronto Economic Summit that took place in 1988. Packaging projects, magazine illustrations and sports contest paintings and drawings were also keeping me busy.

I returned to school and attended classes at Centennial College in desktop publishing and also University of Toronto. At U of T, I studied cultural anthropology, political science, fine art and women's studies. Later, I returned to school fulltime to further study digital programs. I studied Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Javascript, and HTML. I have continued my studies on my own, learning InDesign, FileMaker Pro, Freeway Pro and WordPress. I can now create ebooks in InDesign, databases in FileMaker Pro and web pages in Freeway Pro and WordPress. I created a database for the Art Gallery of Northumberland of their permanent collection, which can now be seen through their web page:

While employed as the gallery’s director, as well as managing the day-to-day operations, I created and published their quarterly newsletter, an audit database of the permanent collection, all advertising materials including posters, rack cards, catalogues, brochures, invitations, labels and tickets. Social media sites where kept up to date.

I have created numerous logos and web pages, including this one. I am still illustrating books, both in illustrator and with traditional illustration. Painting landscapes and abstracts in my studio is a great joy. I show in a number of galleries locally. My work can be seen at:

I work in many different types of media to create my traditional illustrations. Some are acrylic, oil, pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, pastel, pencil crayon, watercolour, pulp and mixed media. Most of my design work is done in illustrator.
